It's W-2 they require a minimum of 2 loads per day and say that you'll make $1,800 a week if you just do that minimum. If you're running 3 loads a day then you're in the $2,500+ range and the guys who are able to get in a 4th load once in awhile are breaking into the $3,200+ range. Yeah, I know recruiters are worse than used car salesman... "We'll have you home every weekend! Our drivers average blah blah blah" then you get there, go home on Saturday night and are expected to be rolling again Sunday night making barely enough to eat. Those are definitely out there. Just look at the bad companies forum on this site. Oh and don't even get me started on the company leases.

I ran a vacuum truck before and didn't have those issues. The hardest thing was finding the wells. Of course that was also paid hourly.

They require a minimum of 2 loads per day. If they are setting a minimum requirement that you must fulfill in order to work there I don't think they're leaving any trucks sitting. They must have a lot of work otherwise why would they say you're required to do a minimum number of loads?

Well not every driver takes the time to do a proper PTI and report issues to the company to fix. It definitely isn't a lack of the company wanting to maintain their equipment. Unfortunately we have a few bad apples spoiling our barrel. The company is trying to crack down on that. Hopefully if any of you guys come over you'll do your job right so we don't have those problems.

I found that you can do two loads per day if :
I don't have three trucks in front of me at the loading site
The forklift is working properly and maintained ( NOT )
Gate guard at location has been properly sedated
    Trucks on location backed up
Go to truck stop on personal conveyance (Daily )
Again run your hours out every day and still be lucky to bring home $1000.00 ( Good Luck )

Crude oil haulers arn't even making the kind of money you're saying you can make hauling sand right now. Listen to the people who have been there. The goose your chasing ain't going to be laying golden eggs in your hand. Its gonna be dropping goose turds.

Hmmm if that's the case then I may as well take the job offer I got to do PSD and armed VIP escort in Afghanistan as a defense contractor. Seems there's no real money in trucking.

Okay, so frac sand is empty promises and pays less than the road. I made good money before in a vacuum truck. Should I go back to salt water?

some company trying to offer $3000 a week as a company driver just remember sounds too good to be true usually is... companies that are consistently trying to aggressively hire all the time it’s not because they need the drivers because they’re busy it’s because they’re busy running drivers off because the company isn’t worth a crap..
