In a nutshell, Dr. D'Adamo is saying that certain diets are great for people with certain blood types, while being rather quite detrimental for people of other blood types.
In my particular case, having blood type "A Positive", (A+), it is one of the much more strict diets:
1) primarily vegetables, fruits, fish several times a week for protein along with some chicken or turkey, NO red meat, NO dairy, VERY LIMITED amounts of grains, NO sugar, NO soda, VERY LIMITED amount of salt, VERY LIMITED alcohol, (I myself am not an alcohol drinker), NO fats or greases whatsoever.
2) For the most part, it is a strict version of the Mediterranean diet, (for blood type "A", both positive & negative).
3) Truth be told, it's a hard diet to follow - must admit, it is a very healthy diet.
