So my 8yr old wilson 2k finally died. Rock/stone/ pigeon must have hit it at one time, as the coil area was filled with water and turning green. I had the see thru coil. So i stopped at Bob's today. Holy crap!!! I could spend some coin in there.
All my gear is as old as the wilson, so i bought a Browning antenna, new heavy duty mount, and stud. They came out and tuned it for me. My swr's are still at 1.5, but i run an FLD and they suggested that i clean up where the mirror posts mount to the door to make a better connection and that would take down the swr's. To do project for tomorrow. They will measure it again if i stop back, dont know if that would be a good idea as i just might have to leave with a new toy.
All told it came to around $65, and the service was amazing. Had a few techs that would answer any questions, and were very helpful. Would highly recommend.

Glad you had a good experience. Where are they located? Haven't found anyone or heard of a notable shop here in Indiana. Of course it's rare to find just an honest person at anything nowadays.

Bob has been around a very long time and has a solid rep in the industry.

1.5 swr isn’t bad if you’re running barefoot if you’re running power I might try going a bit lower.

shogun and Windmill Hill Thank this.

Anymore it’s hard finding anyone who will talk to you on the radio. Unless I’m running skinny road with the bull wagons and hoppers I don’t even bother asking for bear reports.

    shogun Thanks this.

Decided to stop back by Bob's. My 959 from 2002 has about run its course, so i picked up a general lee, tuned and putting out 47 watts with a ranger 198 mic for $254 out the door.

    I am happy.

shogun and Tall Mike Thank this.

Bob is exit 70 off 80 in PA.
Key Cb Shop is located at the address 7072 S Warren Rd in Warren, Indiana 46792. They can be contacted via phone at (260) 375-4410
Bob has a great selection of merchandise but hes not much of a technician. The guy in Indiana does much better work.
