Boost for bid to halt truck crime in its tracks

TRUCKERS sharing information about hijacked lorries and stolen loads have been given a boost in the fight against crime.
The anti-truck crime project covering the Midlands will now receive vital information from north of the border.
West Midlands Business Councils regional business crime forum chairman, Mike Cherry, hailed it as a further major effort to deter the hijacking of lorries and loads.
The development comes after the alleged attempted robbery last month of a 41-year-old Greek driver in Warwickshire which ended with the fatal stabbing of Dean Skidmore, 34, of Brierley Hill.
