Bought a new truck! How to register????

    I just bought a truck from georgia (cash ) I want to register it in texas... (where i live)
    I haven't recieved the actual title yet...
    I have no clue on how to register my truck. I keep getting the run around...
    Does anyone know the actual steps???

    Too late, paid cash. They said they would mail the title to me... then the
    Dmv said I had to pay TVAT tax... Effective January 1, 2018, Georgia House Bill 340 requires that the Department of Revenue (DOR) provide an additional option for calculating TAVT for new, leased vehicles.

    Now the tag office is saying the title hasn't been printed yet.

    I just want to be able to move around with my truck..
    ...i'm renting uhauls to do my jobs while my truck trailer sit in storage...
    I know it's dumb but i need help.

    When the (dealer) or person signs the back of your title when they get it from GA. and you fill in your co name or your name you carry it to TX. and have it put in your name, you must not let GA. take $ from you that you dont have to pay, that tax is if you are getting a GA title

    Ga dealer said it's not required to give me the temporary tag or title... they gave me only a bill of sale....
    I have a power of attorney for the truck
    And a bill of sale

    Pretty sure they have to apply for title. The seller isnt the DMV. A bill of sale would be proper for a dealer, because all they have is the MSO from the manufacturer if he really did buy a NEW truck. If used the dealer had to put the truck in their name. Only way you would have a title is if you bought used from a private source and they endorsed it over to you.
