Hello everyone, I know this thread is near 3 months old but I'm going to give you a little insight.
I've been with Boyd since Aug 2008. I have leased the same truck in Aug 2009 then lease purchase it on March 2010. My truck is a 07 International 9400. My truck payment is $435 a week. I have an APU on my truck that is $50 a week which is included in the truck payment. I can get between 7 to 7.7 MPG running 68 MPH on flat ground and other factors. If I get loads between 33000lbs to 48000 lbs, I can get 6.3 to 6.8 MPG running between 62 to 64 MPH depending on flat ground and other factors. My rule is the heavier I am, the slower I go but not least than 62 MPH.
Last week, I cleared $2240.06 running 2686 empty and loaded miles. 1 load during that week had 3 stopoffs . The only thing I had to take out was the 20% for taxes. But that was a good week. I had weeks that I had made $1300, some $1700.
Tolls and scales are all reimburse unless you are an owner operator.
If you got questions, ask away.Last edited: Apr 10, 2012

How often do you go home, I know some drivers go home every weekend and some stay out. If you have a breakdown do you have to come out of pocket or do they add it on to your loan.
-
Well the choose to go home is really up to you. I prefer to stay out two or more weeks.
The breakdown works in different ways to help you see a paycheck. If the breakdown is small, it comes out your maintenance account. If its large around $3000 for example, and you don't have enough in your maintenance account, they will take some money out your tire account to pay the difference. If you don't have enough in either account, they will take $125 out your check every week until the bill is paid. Now the maintenance account only cover the engine, transmission, drive shaft, clutch, and heating and cooling. If you had a blown motor, Boyd will pay for it to get rebuild and they will add the total to your lease. If you had money in your accounts when your engine got blown, they just add the difference to your lease. I hope I didn't confuse anyone. -
