Trailer Brakes Won't Release after letting up on the foot brake pedel

    Trailer brakes wont release after you let up on the foot valve or the Johnny bar replaced every valve on the trailer replaced tractor protection valve and the Johnny bar valve still having issues

    Check the exhaust port on the johnny bar. If air can't release out it the brakes will stay on.

    Theres also an exhaust port on the front firewall passthrough for the MV3 valve. Have you checked for a brake chamber passing air?

    Check to see that the trailer brakes aren't trying to cam over, too. Sometimes it's something simple like that...

    Had that happen recently. Hand valve released through an aluminum block valve combination in front of the fire wall. It had a dirt dober mess in the exhaust port. It only did it sometimes but knew it was the tractor by putting a gauge on the trailer service hose. It took several days, off and on to figure it out. Ours was on a Ford so I can not give better information.

    The foot valve can go bad after a num. of years, but ck the ex. port 1st to be sure air can get out?

    Clevis pins tied up in slack adjusters.
