From neutral, won't go into gear. leave off for a bit, it'll work again, but keeps happening. Any suggestions?

Need to what transmission you have, but if it is an automatic, most have a neutral safety lock that requires pressing the brake pedal to unlock to get it into drive. Something might be wrong with this circuit.
