Brand new unit out of the box...also brand new coax and antennas... Unit powers on, meter doesn't move at all, positioned all the way to left side. A "speaker click" when I key the mic... red lights indicates as if transmitting... but nothing both directions. Advice..

hey man, did you do all the setup procedures in the manual? you have to tune the antenna and all that. There is a section that shows you how to do it in the manual. Takes like 3 minutes to do it. I remember my meter wasn't even moving once I installed my Wilson antenna on my cobra 29. I was like wtf? So I pulled out manual and saw the section and then I calibrated it. IT worked great.

the red light indicates an antenna problem, don't transmit until you the antenna checked.

Thanks! I am reading it could be about "bonding" the antennae?

Go to section of manual where it says "calibrate for SWR" follow all those steps. PAge 5 I think if you have same manual. my truck in shop, otherwise I could tell you what switches and settings I have the rest of the radio on. Someone will chime in soon. but defiantely do the calibration

No don't try to figure it out, take the antenna to someone who can check it so you don't screw the radio up.
