and I think you can enter/exit Canada with a twic card ... I am still a newbie so don't quote me on that.
I also do not think any company would really make you drive from Canada to Peru .. only because of the Darian Gap .. and it probably isn't very cost effective ... but I don't know.tscottme Thanks this. -
Made it through the 2nd week and still maintaining an A average. We start backing maneuvers next week. We will have 30 days of actual range and driving before we take the CDL Exam. We will be trained at mountain driving as well.
We have had several company recruiters come in - and I am actually interested in 3. I also want to really apply myself for 1 driving position that requires a background check to the time of birth. It will also require 1 year of additional training (paid training). I will be unable to discuss with anyone where I am, including family, when on a run. No naivety permitted.
I will just have to hope I do well in the upcoming weeks and aim high.Last edited by a moderator: Mar 18, 2017

ALL truckers more or less have people who love them at home, however far away, to cut off all communications is unrealistic and dangerous over long term.
Remember school is school. If there is a mountain to learn on you will be on it. But it will not be like any other you will cross in your life time out there. All mountains have somethng that can hurt you or kill if you underestimate it or act the fool with them.
Most of the time records going back 10 years is more than sufficient. If you are hiring onto a outfit that requires everything you are then you better think carefully what you are fixing to get involved in with.zany_steverino Thanks this. -
You'll do fine. Learning the basics of driving a truck isn't exactly rocket science. It's not hard. Like anything, once you learn it'll take time to be proficient.

As I understood it, you would be hauling sensitive technology/classified equipment. If the cargo is compromised, troops get deployed to your location.
