Yep i love the 12.7. Best engine ever made. Used to average 7.8 pulling open deck without even trying. When i tried it got mid 8s. If i had a light load i would get over 9. I even managed to pull off 10 a few times, but it required perfect conditions.

If they didn’t overcharge for them they might be.

Probably a lot more out there than you thank. A local under a 100 truck company has been making their own for several years.

Nothing, but you'll never convince the lawyers and insurance company that. I would be willing to bet that is one of the reasons it took so long to get the truck fixed, FL and truck builder were in a pissing contest to try to pass blame.

    Steel Dragon Thanks this.

Google 3406b 6mpg or 6.5 mpg and see what random people are saying from years ago about that motor. Do the same with Detroit 12.7, you will quickly realize you are incorrect.

Steel Dragon and spyder7723 Thank this.

We have a 379 with 3406b, it averages 5.5 mpg. Our driving isn’t conducive to good mpg, heavy most of the time and we run hard.
I have no doubt that you could get 6 or even 7mpg if you tried.

Steel Dragon, shogun and spyder7723 Thank this.
