Here is the thing, running open deck, things go with the job. Your gonna have to tarp some dumb stuff and sometimes it seems to be for no good reason. Other times you get to load, secure and roll. tarps are part of the job. Sure, it can be an mighty ugly sometimes. still has to be done. may not want or like to, thats opendeck.

I have been told that open deck drivers are a bit unusual, maybe even odd or off a bit as things go. have even been outright told I was crazy to do the job. well I said thanks, I'll take that as a compliment.

 

Tarping shingles is nothing.
Wait till they make you tarp a 45 000lbs piece off granite.

How do you use 2 hrs to do a split break? If you're referring to an 8/2 split berth provision, doesn't the break start with 8 continuous hrs in the sleeper berth first?

 

Yep, I have a friend who decided to go flatbed over a year ago. He tells me about the screwy locations & appointments all the time.

Stuff like, "go down the hwy 45 miles until you pass a house with a plastic deer in the yard, there's a little store on the right, go inside and have Ethel call me (no cell service) and I will have one of the boys come and lead you up onto the ranch where the hay is stacked."
