I know what you mean! Took time and effort to keep everything in good standing, but now it shows its value.

Maybe too late to jump in now anyway.
MC numbers are going away Oct 1st..

I don’t know if you’ll be able to sell a DOT number once the MC’s disappear. Personally I wouldn’t be buying one right now until the dust settles.

I don't think it's gonna change much of anything. You're just losing a number that was obsolete anyway.

I don’t claim to know more than jack-crap on the subject so I appreciate your input.

I found this but I’m not really convinced so that’s my reason for saying to wait..

“No, you cannot buy a DOT number from a private party, and this will remain true even after MC numbers are no longer used because DOT numbers are assigned to a specific legal entity (a person or business) and are not transferable or sellable. While you may not be able to buy a DOT number directly, you can acquire one by creating a new business or by the existing business changing ownership structure, which would necessitate re-registering for a new DOT number, according to altLINE. ”

To me it’s definitely confusing :)

Well I could be talking out of my rear end. Because honestly, I've have a girl in the office that takes care of all that.
But I haven't seen anything Come down the pike that's going to change anything drastically.

No different than it is now. Doing it completely legal, buy a MC from a person and the DOT changes. Why you see such high DOT# with a low MC#
Again legally, you buy the company as long as it's a separate entity with no tie to a personal name(DBA)even though it's done all the time.

I got DOT number when I got the MC number so I have a pretty low one.
