What states allow more than 34k on your tandems?

Not ever been to many beer makers even including soft drink also. My experience is about all of them are arrogant and jerks. JMO. My son drove for Millis 12 years or so ago. He was at 1 year with them. Loaded a beer load and it wouldn't scale except with trl axles all the way to the rear. Think in Illinois got a over length citation. Had to rework load somewhere. Now how in the world can those " well compensated " beer loaders screw up a load ? They probably ship 60 or more loads a day? Anyway he was inexperienced and millis wouldn't even go half on the citation. He called me asked what to do. I told him if he is sick and tired of them, i would quit, or so say, fire millis , so he did. He still drives truck. Millis is just like the rest, good for a start in trucking. Millis is also afraid to ruffle the beer makers feathers.Fuelinmyveins, mtoo, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this.

None that I know of.
You would be overaxle back there which is more expensive in fines than over gross to a certain degree.
What would be more important is who the state writes ticket to. Virginia wrote against the company. I got a 3000 dollar ticket to them one bad day. This was 80's money probably about 7000 by inflation today if not more.
Return to shipper and remove the 600 in beer.
Your company will need to know about this problem.
Also you will have to slide tandems where possible to get that 600 onto your drives. Even if it means shorting fuel. I think about 2 or 3 holes should do it. SOme trailers only need one.jethro712 Thanks this. -
If it's overweight you put it back in the door. Period. They're pretty quick on reworking it.jethro712 Thanks this.

The line to the scale can be massive. I waited like 9 hours to get loaded, then was overweight had to get trailer reworked then sit back in line... 13 hours or so...
This was 10 years ago so not sure how much the process has changed.Dave_in_AZ and jethro712 Thank this. -
Wyoming allows 36K on tandems. Don't know about other states.

they're not supposed to let you go out with an overweight trailer at all..if you choose to say I'm fine that's up to you..
I haul out of Cartersville all the time sometimes you're there for hours getting reworked and everything else would you pull out into the scale and you figure everything out and you look at it say am I good with it then you drive up to the gate to get your paperwork..if you have any questions and you say it's overweight you just tell them I need to have this reworked.Dave_in_AZ and jethro712 Thank this. -
Florida being the real winner allows 44,000 on tandem axles. If you are a intrastate driver pulling a box as long as you are not over 80,000 and your tandems are between the 1st and 8th pin you never need too see a CAT scale.
Honestly they’re numerous states that allow over 34k on the tandems. Lots allowing 36K... Weird ones like New Mexico allowing 320 pounds over. North Carolina is very lenient as well with 38,000.
I attached a link below. All those numbers can also be found in the back of a Rand McNally Atlas.
