    Howdy all,

I have a Detroit S60 14L in my Columbia. It is burning coolant. After I shut it off to fuel, it blows white smoke for a couple of seconds. I am losing coolant, but no leaks and the hoses are new.

I checked the oil, no water in it.

Where could coolant be making its way to the exhaust without going through the engine?

    Thanks much!

Agree, I would check the EGR cooler first.

EGR cooler. Easy way to check it is: there is a pipe from.the EGR cooler that runs over the top of the engine into the intake manifold. Disconnect it near the intake manifold. If the pipe is wet inside your EGR cooler is leaking. To confirm start your truck, use your hand to push the accelerator to the floor 5 times. This will cause the EGR to kick in. And you should see coolant in the pipe

    Update. I'm so ashamed...

After having the dealer order me a new EGR cooler and bringing it in, I have a verdict.

It was a loose hose clamp. Tightened it up, no codes, all is well. Geez.

    Rideandrepair and QUALITYTRUCK Thank this.

Update to the update: Kick in the pants time. Turns out, I need a new VGT turbo. This will also mean an intake manifold, due to rusted bolts. FML.
