Not good as in you'll be lucky to call on a load and it is still available at any rate
-
Booked a load from PA for $1100. (Well waiting for confirmation)
I like in and out of PA. -
Today I verbally locked in a load for Monday which the broker called me for. The broker A wanted me to make an online profile and email him when it was done. Now this registration took a while becuase of some issues and I wasnt if it was made or not. About 45 minutes later, I got called from another broker B and booked a load thinking broker A would have moved on by now becuase he didnt get an email from me saying the profile is made. Soon after I got a load tender from broker A and I told him that I already booked a load because this took so long and I wasnt sure if it will go through.
What I did, is that normal and okay. I kinda feel bad.
How should I proceed with the brokers when something like this happens? -
That was a mistake
In this business your word is your bond
Broker A is likely unhappy with you now and you definitely aren't in his good books
Never assume anything, communication is key
You have your word you would do it, he gave his that the load is yours
You broke your bond...LoudOne Thanks this. -
Aren't we suppose to hold the truck for 10 minutes and then to move on? But in this case I didnt communicate what was going on.
Last time when this happened was. I locked in a next morning load and broker said he will check the carrier packege and send me confirmation in the morning. Morning came and my truck broke down and while I was busy with that he called and emailed.
As soon as I got a chance, I emailed him about situation and that I couldnt cover the load. Broker was pissed. -
If you say you're going to do the load for an agreed rate, you do the load for the agreed rate. 10 minute rule isn't an arbitrary rule. In this case you dropped off the load while you assumed something, not a good reason to drop off at all. Broker A should be annoyed with you. Put yourself in their shoes for a moment...

I understand. For sure this will be the 1st and last time.
What about my second situation of truck breaking down? -
That's an unforseen circumstance
Ducking out on a load on something you assume is very different...spyder7723 Thanks this. -
My loaded trailer was stolen at night. They unhooked the tractor and took the trailer. Cargo was labels used on Medicine. I am sure they must have abandoned it somewhere soon after realizing the cargo isnt worth anything to them. All the trailers in the yard were hit.
I am going around to see if I find it
