Is the freight moving okay for you? I'm an Industrial Waste hauler, and, right now, our business is dead. If less amounts of industrial waste are being produced it would be logical to assume industries aren't producing as much product either.

Cardboard is a good barometer, too. If industry isn't making products to ship, they don't need to buy boxes to put the stuff in. LINPAC used to be one of my customers, and, when their business went flat, so did everyone elses. Anybody here haul cardboard? How's business?

I haul loads of corn starch to various cardboard plants, and there has been no signs of it slacking off. General dry van freight has been slower than normal this winter, but things are rumored to be picking up some.

I'm in the same boat as well....

The coal mining business has ground to a halt here in Ky and WV.

I've been laid off since November and there's no sign of getting back to work anytime soon. hence my switch to OTR again :biggrin_2552:

I get the chills on the rare occasions when I deliver large shipments of chemical to funeral homes, especially if I get a glimpse of the room where they do their dirty work. Obviously, morticianry is a necessary profession, but that's one business I prefer to not see pick up.
