Now she should be good to go for 300 to 500k with no major hiccups and that should equal to 150 200 grand easily so i think that's a win spend 60 to make 200 or even more

I have done egr valve, 6 shocks. All brake shoes, 4 rear drums, turbo, exhaust gaskets, air filter, the exhaust system behind the turbo except the elbow, an injector. PMS of course. I have been running since last July 60 k miles. Now my isx runs very nice. I have to change the oil again soon, when the egr valve went out it sooted the oil re real bad. I dumped it once since then but will do it again shortly. Master air valve too.

I bought a $13k truck with 700k miles back in October. I have spent about another $12k so far plus bought my own base plates for another $2500. Some of the money was on cosmetics. I have paid $0 in labor including a new trans and cluch. I have a heated shop at my disposal. If I had to pay someone else to do the work I don't know if I could make it work out? Hope your handy with a wrench.

Knowing what I know now id say the pre emissions truck for 10-15k$ + a minimum of 10-15k in savings is a pretty stable start if your gig is strong enough to support it. Don't just buy any truck though, there are many great trucks coming into the market ALL the time. Many will have certain perks to weigh out like, new injectors, overhauled engines, new transmissions, new diffs, new tires, good cosmetic condition etc. there's no reason to just get a pre emissions truck because it was cheap. Many folks drive the dog out those trucks, better luck buying a truck off a careful owner op.Last edited: Apr 17, 2016

Its a lottery trust me. Ive heard of people with old trucks that had no issues and ive personally bought 2 2013 volvos with 200k miles and in 9 months that I had them they were in the shop for 13 weeks total. Between them, we had a engine go bad, I shift go bad, egr go bad 3-4 times. CRAZY STORIES!!!!! So its a lottery trust me.

Ohh and turbo broker also. forgot about that. Ive found out that a truck that has DPF, if it sits a long time, the DEF crystallizes and causes major issues in the whole system.
