All "new trucks" a older truck would be a great investment to avoid all these new regulations

I am not doing that and maybe should not answer but 1988 is really stepping back. Paying $10,000 and getting a 1998 might be a better deal. Anyway you go about it you are looking to pick a candy apple out of a bushel of old apples. Picking out of baskets from the south, west, mid-south may have better picking. Many things decline with age unrelated to mileage. It is doable with dedication, conservation, and determination. Always set aside money for a bad day. Fifteen or so years ago I read that 80% of all new businesses go broke the first year and the 5% that remain at 5 years usually remain. Good Luck!

All new cars will have to have factory installed rear view cameras, does not mean all old cars will have to retrofit them. Cmon, have some common sense before giving advises to other people

Pretty sure I read that it doesn't mean we're all going to have to retrofit their stupidity prevention systems (SPS).

Since the new rule is aimed at truck manufacturers rather than buyers, it will be up to manufacturers to implement the systems and won’t need to be added to older vehicles that don’t already have stability control systems built in.

    Cetane+ Thanks this.

I'm all for making things safer, but the only downside to this will be the increased cost that will be passed down to the buyer.
