Check where the fins might be touching the housing as well. Look for any indication that the fins are marking the cast iron. I didn't look at mine as close as I should have, then changed them out after the rebuild. Now it will spool up and build boost much better.

I will check the turbo where you described.

According to the previous driver that retired, he got the engine hot several times while pulling heavy loads.

    SAR and T800H Thank this.

I would agree that it got hot. When.you have it down, flush out the radiator and wash out the CAC real good. When you get the turbos back on, blow air through the precooler and the CAC to make sure all the dust is cleaned out.
One real great thing about a BXS, is the crank. It's a different color than the other cranks. It's made out of a special alloy that they only used on BXS engines. It's kind of a gold color.

SAR, spsauerland and T800H Thank this.

    A5c:

We have several 3406B, one 3406E and this BXS C15.

I actually like the BXS C15 over the others even though it’s far more work because of the 2 turbos and all the plumbing but, I really like how they run.

I’ve noticed that the crank is different as well when I pulled the pan.

Connecting rods are different as well being they’re a 4 bolt compared to 2 for the previous engines.

    SAR and A5¢ Thank this.

Well, the hard part is over, all of the work I can do for now is done. Tommorow morning I will fire up the Cat and make a trip to Cape Coral Florida, to visit, see some old friends, scuba dive and see how many fish I can catch. Thank you to all that helped me with this project.

Nice looking setup. I would definitely do a double-take if I saw it rollin'. Nicest looking 387 I have seen in some time. You should be proud.
