You can apply for a 3500 mile annual mileage waiver, they will be looking at fuel tax reporting for compliance.

 

I thaught the waiver was for 1000 mi annually

You can put an aftermarket dpf on it if you want. It might be more reliable since it a strictly passive system but will have to be pulled and cleaned more often though. I believe Diesel Dave on here has on on hit cat powered pete and has pretty good luck with it.

 

1000 in state. 5000 cross country. Unless it changed.

 

You can take a glider into California, just make sure it has a 2010 or newer engine and the required emisson equipment

 

My 97 pete goes into cali all the time. Just gotta know how to get around there and avoid the hot spots.
