The rates shown above are the actual rates paid to a carrier working directly for a customer or to a broker arranging trucks for that customer. If you are a trucker looking for spot market freight in a down market like that out of CA now, you'd be lucky to be paid 85% of the rates shown ... especially if you're not a "regular." Also, those are not necessarily the rates now, but those that were paid last week.

Every time I come here on a flatbed I get stuck for days. It's pretty stupid to send me here because up front there was a tiny deadhead in Riverside. Really poor planning and a bad gamble. Huge loss of money, but it's only Tuesday and I have plenty of greed and boldness left for the week.

Next time I see him I'll ask how the rates are out of the LA area. -
