Going from cali to Denver should I avoid I70 nd go 40 east to the 25 I have over 5 years driving but driving I 70 in the winter scares the crap out of me

I always take 40 to 25 because I would die if I took I-70 and got stuck in the high elevations.

Yeah I know I checked the weather , there’s been road closures due to snow , it’s supposed continue snowing all week , I still have to take i70 west coming back after my Denver delivery , so um screwed either ways

    Concorde Thanks this.

That adds like extra 200 miles.

If it was me I'd base my decision off the weather.

The Megas generally avoid I-70 West of Denver just for MPG reasons. If there is current or forecast bad weather I would use I-40.

Bean Jr., Iemontel and lual Thank this.

That's bs. They just don't trust their dummy drivers in the mountains.

You're not really saving on fuel if you go extra 200 miles just to avoid a couple mountains.
