calling all o/o. let's talk tires!!!

    I am running the same Chinese tread pattern on my Pete. Roadlux/Longmarch tires. They were $250 installed each and I've had them on 10 months now. In the summer heat they wear fast, I will be replacing them just before snowfall this year but for $2000 Who cares because they have worn perfectly even and funny story about the soft rubber......

    I bought bridgestone bdr-w winter tires on one truck and these Chinese ones on the other..... these Chinese were mint on snow and ice with that soft rubber compound whereas the winter tires would spin and get stuck alot. All the sypes would get packed full of snow and sleet and turn them to racing slicks whereas the Chinese ones have enough lug to clean itself and the soft compound grips amazing in the cold Canadian winter.

    yeah the duraturns are amazing in the snow and ice. im running mostly nd, mt, southern sk, mb came threw a heavy wet slush snow this spring with some guys running closed shoulder alerous sp? drive tires and they were having trouble and i never once broke traction.

    my duraturns are right in the same price range as your longmarch tires. at that price range it almost does not matter that they wear fast. i do get even tread wear out of them with very minimal heal toe wear that evens back out as the tread depth drops below 50% i don't know that they are the perfect solution but i have not been dissatisfied. i guess asking a tire for great winter traction and long life in the summer might be asking too much. a guy should almost get a second set of rims with a hard rubber closed shoulder tire for summer and run something like these for the winter.

    Michelins are overpriced. Been paying less than 1/2 as much for Kumho's that last much longer. 16 ply 11R24.5 tires. I run the KRD03 drives (open shoulder) and used to run the KRS02 steers before my tire shop moved 45 minutes farther away. This time around, went with the Dunlop SP160. Same price as the Kumho's, same 16 ply 11R24.5, and made in the USA (as opposed to Korea). I'd steer clear of anything made in china. Used to run XDE M/S* on the drives and XZE2 on the steer, but they were stupid expensive and really didn't last. Only redeeming quality was I'd cap each case twice to run them 3 times before selling off the cases. For what it costs to cap my own cases, I could dang near buy the Kumho's...thus the switch, and I haven't looked back. If Michelin cut their prices in half, it'd still be a hard sell to get me to go back to them because they just didn't last.

    I had good luck with Dunlop 431A. Lasted me 2 years which is great considering I haul 140k regional haul.

    I like/have good luck with the BDR-W in the winter.... put them on my own casings for like $200
