Came across a new job opportunity lately driving strictly within Canada. I've never really driven strictly Canada in about 4 years. The runs that are being offered are as followed.
Toronto-Cornwall round trip $400
Toronto-Ottawa round trip $350
Toronto-Halifax NS for 0.50 cents per mile, 2 round trips per week.
The loads are all Amazon.
I've heard that winters can be real bad going to these destinations, along with a lack of places to stop for sleep. The not much places to sleep is why I stopped running Canada in the first place. The trucks are governed to 120km/h. Truck is a Peterbilt 379 18 speed manual.

You'll figure out places to sleep on your first couple trips. Toronto to Cornwall would be my choice. 2 trips a week to Halifax in the winter you better be running paper logs to deal with any delays, much more traffic and the same # lanes as when I ran around that area, plus you don't want to be travelling through "the swamp" during rush hour. Toronto to Ottawa nicer drive off season,,gets pretty quiet actually.

Also is "the swamp", Montreal?650cat425 Thanks this. -
Montreal "The Swamp"
I avoided Montreal during the day like the plague as I loaded on south side...and depending on traffic determined which bridge to cross the river. No placards allowed in the Tunnel.650cat425, Canadianhauler21 and Phantom Trucker Thank this. -
2 rounders to Halifax is about 4k miles which means it pays the same as 5 Cornwall trips so I'm not sure where you get the extra 200 a week. Good luck getting two of those done in 70.
Cornwall is what I'd look at.BigHossVolvo, 650cat425 and Canadianhauler21 Thank this. -
Amazon is going gangbusters stateside looking for contract drivers. Be careful, would probably only be for the upcoming Christmas rush, then drop off.

Toronto-Cornwall round trip $400 is a good deal considering its 8 hrs there is back (of course with a delay and break of 1.5 hrs totaling 9.5 hrs) that is still $42.10/hr or $0.74/mile (total 543 mile round trip). I ran that stretch a few years ago and even in the winters it's not that bad just got to watch out for the non experience truckers running at night. For $2000/week it's not bad at all really. Amazon is probably the main Distribution company right now in Ontario that's has tons of various brokers subcontracting loads even out of our yard.
650cat425 and Canadianhauler21 Thank this. -
Are you an O/O?
