Can a trucker have protection in the sleeper?

    Ya'll chill out, not that kind of protection...

    I mean can a trucker carry with a Firearm Owners ID from Illinois in the truck for self defense across the country? (Please take not I am not talking about conceal carry, just a firearm inside the truck)

    Federal isn't the problem. Every state has their own rules and most don't have reciprocity and several are extremely strict.

    Firearm Owners ID? Since only the few commie states have something like that, I'd say no. If you had a Concealed Carry permit you would be legal in any state that has reciprocity with your permit state. Others in would have to be locked and stored per that states guns laws.
    The real problem you will face, Concealed Carry permit or not, if the fact that many companies have rules against carrying. Also, there are places like that don't allow guns. Like military bases that may even search your truck
