Can an american citizens residents in Canada work in the USA?

    We have cdn plated tractors, and one American plated unit. Trailers are a mix of us and cdn plates. Do not require "papers" to drive the us plated truck.

    80% of Jack Cooper Transport's ( original JCT, not the old Allied junk ) trucks in Canada are plated Kansas, the other 20% are plated Quebec. Trailers are all plated ( or were ) Kansas and Ohio (?)

    Actually a small company called lynden doors. They shipped there own product but needed a Canadian guy to do the pick ups and drop offs in Canada.

    but why would someone who is a dually(i.e--US citizenship and passport/CND citizenship and passport) be considered foreign? nor would 1st nations be considered foreign....

    or is there more to the guideline? i've called the CMV offices and can't get anyone to reply!!!

    My response was regarding the question of a Canadian driver working for an American carrier (i.e., nate980 working for Lynden Doors). An American driver working for an American carrier should be a non-issue regardless of where they reside.
