If there is a $10 dollar balance on the card, interest is charged from transaction date so interest is due from transaction date until paid.

When paying inside, as you have to do with a credit card, you pre-charge a certain amount and they do print a receipt. After the fueling you go back in to finalize the transaction. I've done a couple of Drive-away moves where I had to use my own card so I'm extremely aware.
