I’m a company driver in a 2019 T680 and I idle to run my cpap. There’s times when I would definitely like to not idle, plus I know it drive some drivers nuts when I high idle next to them.

But I’m concerned about killing the batteries and electrical has always been foreign to me. Can I run the 400w inverter w/cpap machine (plus I have one of those iceless coolers) for 7-9 hours? I usually just do my 10 hour and go.

    Thanks

Probably not. Honestly you have one of the newer quieter trucks high idle isn’t as loud and obnoxious as someone with a POS Volvo with the air governor cutting off every 10 seconds.

True, but there are really nice days that I hate idling. And trying to be the diligent company guy and all that...

Also very true. Couldn’t do this job safely without it.

Have you tried not Idling, I would think your batteries should be good enough to last all night. Just try it and see, the worst that can happen is your low battery alarm will go off and you will need to start the truck. Also you don't need to hi idle. On the rare occasion when I idle I just run it on low, I have a 15 ISX 2350.

I try not to find myself NE of PA lol. But I know there is some beautiful riding country in New England. Sadly, sold the SG in December. No time to ride, and a friend had been eyeballing it for a while. Did a couple of Ironbutt runs on it to the west, but never got east of OK with her. There will be another, just not right now right now...

That’s what it looked like before I got bored one summer.

And vanity plate, because Carly Simon wrote that thar song about me....

Skeered. Fraid I’ll sleep right through that low battery warning (deep sleeper) and I’ll need a jump. Tend to run on a tight schedule. But, I figure that’s what I’ll do sometime. Based out of South Texas, so the ‘no idle’ season is pretty much closed for now lol.
