On a 2014 D13;
Over the fuel filter housing and behind the fuel primer there is part of the wiring harness that tees of into some sort of male plug. But its not connected to anything and its getting all rusted from the elements. Here are the pics:
What is this to or for? it looks like it belongs in the hole you see in the pic. Thanks
Can someone tell me what this is?

Looks like a henway

Have a TA mechanic look at it. Won't cost you anything.
I know that in automotive, all vehicles are wired for all the bells and whistles even when later on down the assembly line said vehicle is made into a delux or base model vehicle. -
I stand in shame I don't recognize that new apparent emissions related stuff anymore.
Not to mention no fuel filters where they should be either. Maybe I am the idiot. -
When you mentioned all the fuel related stuff around it my thought was maybe it has something to do with connecting something to keep your diesel from coagulating in severe temperatures, but clearly I am not certain. I would love to know what you find out for sure though!

I'm going to guess it shuts down the truck If it idles too long
Gambosa Thanks this. -
Does it have prongs inside, if so it could be an external data port which probably had a cap on it at one time.
-
I'm guessing it a barometric pressure sensor. It measures the air pressure outside. When you cross the Rocky mountains the computers have adjusted for higher altitude or something light that. Seems like it would get clogged with first quickly being out in the open. What ever it is

DO NOT let a TA " mechanic " anywhere near that engine or anything else for that matter. You're just askin' for trouble.
