Yup, sponsored by the Democrats. They re- label them as “irregular migrants” so they’re not illegal immigrants anymore and vote Democrat for life. Or something like that, I can’t make any sense out of it.

I've done the US visa thing many years ago back in 2005 to get a job driving a Truck you would need a company in the USA to have applied for H2b visas these are considered seasonal and of a temporary nature to help a company with a seasonal increase in work one in which they can not hire enough locals to fill the positions, many summer resorts and winter ski resorts use this option.
The US based company must first prove to the Dept of Labour that they can not hire enough locals to do the job, once proven the DOL give the company a certificate which allows them to then petition the USCIS for visa's to hire foreign workers they would also determine how many visa's the company is entitled to apply for, the USCIS will then post an approval notice to the company called an I -797 they will then give you a copy which you take with you to a US consulate. With this visa it only allows you to work for the company mentioned on the visa it is not an open ticket to get any job in the US. However extensions are allowed for increments up 8 months they need to be filed about 40 days prior to the exit date listed on your I - 94 entry card, your company if the need applies can keep filing extensions for you for up to 3 years then you are required to depart the USA. Please note extensions are required if you need to stay beyond the time allowed for you by CBP if you are departing then you don't need to file, this allows you to remain "legally present" in the USA the extensions are only good while you remain in the USA, so if you cross the border into Canada or Mexico you'd need a valid work visa to return to work.

    WallyWallyWorld Thanks this.
