Hello, looking at doing a trip from Saskatchewan to Florida to pick up my own trailer, no cargo, truck is company owned(my company) but has a personal use plate on it as this truck is only ever used to pull the RV trailer around. The question i have is would i need to register for a DOT number and trip permits and IFTA permits for each state.

I think you're still going to need trip and fuel permits for every state you go though. You shouldn't need a DOT number. Technically you might could get by without permits, but will cause problems if you don't.

You still have to preclear at border both ways it might be cheaper to use a power only guy to bring it into Canada ..
wis bang Thanks this. -
You could get down on the personal plate. Some permits are cheaper if your not hauling general freight, don’t need operating authority to haul your own property or goods.

Personal property not for hire must be posible/easier.
I know the owner drove his horses to Florida with his own personal setup every winter.Magoo1968 Thanks this. -
