I have a felony that is 7 years old. I am really struggling finding a carrier that will hire me other then Western Express. I am out of Sacramento, Ca. I have 4 months experience driving doubles. My ideal job would be something local where i could be home everyday and generate an net income of $1200-$1500 a week......but also I am willing to do OTR or whatever. I just want to get in somewhere. Can anyone help me with some carriers (possibly something close to Sacramento) that you think would hire me? I have ALL my endorsements and TWIC card.

Without getting too personal depends on the felony. I've heard some companies are starting to look at non-violent felonies, but it's going to be awhile. 7 years is pretty far away, I'd have to think it's the "4 months" part that's holding you back.

my felony is non-violent. its a combination of things to be honest.......1. my felony background 2. lack of experience and 3. gaps in employment history over the past 10 years

Gaps in employment is probably what’s giving you the most trouble.

Combined with past employment gaps, the fact that you only have four months' experience with your current company might be one of the reasons you're struggling to find a new position. You'll probably have a lot more options if you can hang there until a year, or at least 6 months.

Right now I think it would be in your best interest to show potential employers that you will stick around for awhile and not be a job hopper.
