My company has a 12ft box truck (DOT registered) that we use to carry our tools and equipment to and from job sites. We also carry spent batteries from time to time. Is a BoL required for this kind of material transportation? Where can I find the regulation for this?

    OLDSKOOLERnWV Thanks this.

Its not goods for commerce, so unless its hazmat reportable quantities, i dont think you need a bol for company equipment.

Not that I know of, and I say that because.....

I spent 12 yrs with EZ electric. Contractor for csx railroad. We too had a 12 ft box truck to keep all our tools for the 16x11 Vermeer drilling rig. My 1 ton F350 with the a contractor topper stayed full of tools as well, and I pulled our Cat 304 excavator all over the east coast with it. Hope this helps.

Spent batteries from your equipment/tools, etc. should be covered by the MOT [materials of trade] exemption same as the torch bottles and such
