have a newer Cascadia and access to a Cascadia Classic four-post Herd bumper with the cow catcher. The issue is the four-post Herd bumpers made for the newer Cascadias don’t come with the cow catcher on the bottom.
I like the cow catcher because it helps keep an animal from rolling under the truck and tearing stuff up. I’ve seen what that can do. A buddy of mine hit a dead cow in the road and it ripped up airlines, brackets, and all kinds of stuff underneath. Made a hell of a mess.
Since this Classic four-post Herd bumper would basically be free, I’d like to try making it work, but I want to see if anyone has actually done it. Does anyone know if that bumper can be made to fit the newer Cascadia with minimal modification?
From what I can tell, the aluminum bumper hinges bolt to a steel bracket that lines up with flat panel brackets on the frame. There’s some adjustment in the mounting brackets with elongated holes to help line things up.
I tried getting info from Herd, but no luck. They just want to sell me a new $6,000 bumper.
    Thanks.
