I don't get it either...someone posted a question and now they have dissappeared and it is my thread. I quess it can be for any irrelevant thought anyone has about anything unimportant...certainly a subject I am good at. Let me start it by saying that if they don't preplan me soon...I might just bobtail from Laredo to Manteno for my hometime that is due in 2 dayz.....lol...maybe that will teach them to ignore me!

The thought occurs to me as I read thru these posts..that really it doesn't make any difference what schooling someone gets...it is really just a matter of getting your cdl. The learning how to drive a truck starts when you get onto a mentors truck. Most of the starter companies realize you don't know much....that is what they want...now you can be trained their way. Yep...we newbies are gonna make mistakes and goof up deliveries and pick ups....That is the price of doing business for a starter company...also is why the wages are low...they have to pay for the fender benders somehow. When I get my year in it will be time to evaluate Swift and trucking in general and then decide what road to go down next. In the mean time...although I am not always happy (like right now) but I realize some of the short comings at Swift are not all their fault...hard to believe but I need to learn the system...yep some responsibility has to fall on the driver.
My point simply is to those considering trucking as a way tro make a living is to get a cdl the cheapest or most convienent way possible and get on with a starter company...put in ur year and learn all you can...some of u will find out in about a week that you really don't want to be a trucker....seen a few get out real quick.
I seen it posted in a another thread about Swifts ranking system...I am Platinum...92 loads...42,000 miles and never late ..no service failures, no hitting of any mirrors on another truck backing up (reported any ways) no violations of any kind and only in the shop to get ba trailer fixed ounce.....I still don't no jack and am learning everyday. backing is still an issue...my shifting absolutly sucks sometimes and the qualcom gives me fits...especially early in the morning. My point here is that anyone who hqs just started with Swift is to not get too excited about the things that are not going well today...learn from it and that will be one less problem tommorow.
