Hi everyone,
I got my California CDL about a month ago and completed two weeks of training for Amazon Relay. I’m currently looking for a job where I can spend my home time in Las Vegas, since my girlfriend lives there.
Is that possible? And do you guys know any companies that offer routes or loads that allow home time in Vegas?
Thanks in advance!

Lots of companies want nothing to do with CA CDL holder because CA has a habit of making crazy laws that grab lots of cash from employers.

swift has alot of terminals around the country.
4 in calif.
if you gonna stay in calif. you can have your home terminal in calif. and still request hometime in las vegas. or anywhere you wantalfolonzo97 and Moosetek13 Thank this. -
It seems to have only 3 employed there. The TM, a DL and Driver Qualifications person.
It has showers, laundry and vending machines from what is shown on the portal. No idea about the parking situation there. -

They hire in Las Vegas if your cdl has a Las Vegas address.
They will have to see that on your job applications.

There's several CDL schools in Las Vegas and all the students get jobs at graduation.

It doesn't matter if Swift is not hiring in Las Vegas. You don't need to be hired there.
You already have a CA residence. All you need to do is get hired by Swift in somewhere CA. You can take your home time anywhere you choose, even Las Vegas. Your home terminal is not a factor in a home time request.
My home terminal is Menasha, WI, but I live in Burnsville, MN. Several hundred miles away. And there is not a lot going through MSP, but I still get home when I request, give or take a day or so.
Heck, I was living here and my home terminal was Otay Mesa, CA - many years ago. No difference.
The home time dates you choose may or may not work well with the available loads, so you might not get 'home' on time every time - or get out at your stated PTA. Something you should be aware of, so you don't get upset about it in the future.
And once you get hired, you can change your license to whatever state you want to actually live in. It won't matter at that point because you are already employed.dptrucker, alfolonzo97 and Chinatown Thank this.
