    as per the rules.

    all time spent at the shipper or receiver or property of any motor carrier is to be logged ON DUTY.

    there are quite a few threads over in the regulations forum with actual postings of the regs.

    i don't think ANY of us actually follow that rule though.

    (1) All time at a plant, terminal, facility, or other property of a motor carrier or shipper, or on any public property, waiting to be dispatched, unless the driver has been relieved from duty by the motor carrier;

    If you are not required to load/unload or supervisor, you are relieved of duty by your carrier. Why do people have a hard time understanding that?

    Y'all go ahead and waste 2-10 hours a day waiting on slow lumpers. Imma be running... Check-in, park, open doors, bump: on-duty. Sleeping: Sleeper. Check out and leave: on duty. Driving: Driving. ;)

    i decided to not wait on lumpers and bumping docks and switched to flatbedding. not sure how it will go but tired of everyplace i go to having everyone be rude. at least with flats the people getting the freight are happy to see it
