I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. I am from Illinois and was interested in attending.
Thanks

It's done at Crowder College just outside of Joplin, CFI headquarters.
Highly recommend. Low student to teacher ratio. Plenty of wheel time, decent room and food.
The school will give you your actual CDL exam. I took the paper to the DMV in Neosho where the school is, used the college as my address and got a Missouri licence. The next time I went home, I traded it for a Florida license and got my hazmat endercement at the same time.
The college has a skid pad... polished cement covered with water. You know you are alive when you eat a sea urchin and you know you are alive when you intentionally throw an 18 wheeler into a skid.
Did I say " highly recommended"? -
Was wondering. It is a four week class correct? Do you get paid while out on the road with trainer? Do you know pay rate? If you fail do they continue working with you or you're just done? Have a friend interested in their school.

There was one person having a particularly hard time. That person was sidelined, could participate but couldn't slow the rest down... ultimately was put in the next class and did fine.
I had a hard time myself. Did extra trips with other classes, plus my own class... they work with you.
I became a finisher, our word for trainer. Currently 720 k miles accident free.
You do get paid when you are with your finisher... I am sure the rate has changed,so that is a recruiter question.
Nerves make you perform somewhere less than you are capable. I was so nervous on test day that I went first to avoid getting in my own way.
My instructor cried tears of joy when I passed... I think she was afraid I would be with her longer!
Good people at that school. They really do care.Rollr4872, Cerberus XVI and 386lover Thank this. -
OK last set of questions. I've read on their website they pay for room and food while at school what other money should you have? And is hazmat required? And am I correct that you must ride 7500 miles with trainer? And last but not least do you know pay rate when you're done with trainer and go solo? Their website doesn't have much info regarding pay rates.
Cerberus XVI Thanks this. -
I believe hazmat is still required, they give you 3 or 4th months to get it and they reimburse you for it. You need money for stuff. Cigs, a pizza, Uber to get off the campus... whatever you spend money on...
Yes, 7500 miles... that's about 3 weeks.
Pay rates have changed... improved... I won't know the current numbers except my current rate and my next rate. Ask a recruiter on this.
Good luck.386lover Thanks this. -
Unless there is a noob that just went through the program, that's a recruiter question. I'm sure it has changed since I went through.
