Probably buy a barrel of G70 chain as cheap as you can, hook ends and go to work making yourself some.
Transport will likely offset any deals you find further than your home 20. -
I am thinking he meant tire chains, if so probably a bigger tire shop. I have seen them in the old days fairly cheap at truck stops too, and truck dealers.

Cause it doesn't belong in the political section. lol
I do not know for sure what he means by chains, and since it is winter, well it was just some suggestions in case that is what he meant.Oxbow and FoolsErrand Thank this. -
Flatbedding chains? Check the For sale ads. Lot of folks going out of business this year.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Definitely ment flatbed chains.

The absolute cheapest? Scrapyard. 20-30 cents a pound.
Ive probably got a half barrel of chain that way. A cement mixer full of sand or dragging them down a gravel road will shine them up. Just inspect for bad links and stuff before putting in service. And unless you can read a stamp on links and hooks, only consider them grade 43.
Good chains probably best deal is buying out a retiring flatbedder as was suggested. -
Just looked at 3/8” x 20’ grade 70 for $49 each. (China)
Bought 2 sections of 3/8” grade 70 (USA) at Fastenal last week, cost $19.96 each for (2) 6’ sections. -
I always bought mine at a truck and trailer parts place in Amarillo I used a bit, it is now a fleetpride. I am not saying they were the cheapest, but prices were good. I need some more on the road once and quickly figured out that the truck stop was not where a guy needed to buy them, I went to a new truck dealer and got a much better price.
Lepton1, cke, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
3/8” x 20’ was $70, and ratchet binders were $42!
