That's BS how they treat line 5, however, it's not meant to drive a 100 miles home. To my knowledge PC is meant to get to a truck stop or a walmart. Something relatively close. Not hundreds of miles down the road. http://www.jjkeller.com/shop/Catego...-is-personal-conveyance*072014_10151_-1_10551

It seems to be the Charlotte Guys that have gotten the message just based on the drivers I know. I'm out of Green Bay and all I've gotten was a verbal "hey, they are starting to crack down on canceling loads because you found a better one. Just a heads up". Otherwise my ICA and ICR's seem to be operating like nothings changed.

When I asked why my ICA told me it was because ic's were booking loads in advance a couple weeks just as "place holders" and when something better came along they would call in to cancel the one load to then turn around and add a better load. This was causing problems for the planers because now that load and the loads in the delivery market area have to be covered at the last minute. Plus the capacity shift they had planned to cover other loads is now all wrong leading to to many drivers in an area (both ic's and company drivers). The guys doing this were costing schneider money.

That's basically the short version of the story I was given.

There are so many things Schneider does that makes up look more like company divers.

Read your own link gives a 2 hour commute example.

Once we are released from duty from work responsibilities we are free to drive as we see fit.

Per a DOT officer you know the ones who write the tickets not the ones who write the rules. As long as we're bobtail and log our fueling correctly we can line 5 wherever we want to provided were not being directed to by a load assignment.

That's the point they did not and are not sending out a message.

They just changed how they're operating and only mention it when you call in.

So seems like they have a option to insert loads which is probably what's lead to drivers picking a load a week out and then trying to fill in between then once they can't make it work they call and cancel and ruin for the rest of us.

I guess if they have changed the contract as they see fit with out an adendum being agreed to by both parties, I take it the contract is void and we don't have to honor what's in it either.

If it's not in the contract they can't hold you to it.
I have had them tell me I CANNOT come off the load..wrong I have 24-48 hours to cancel for no reason.
    PERIOD.
I will NOT let them tell me otherwise.

They have no qualms about cancelling or changing a load from pre-loaded to live without warning.
When you book a load it is based on what you see on the loadboard..it's not ethical to make changes without asking the IC if it's ok.
As we all know this doesn't happen.
If we were on a different system such as broker assisted loads we would have a say when the load changed.
    As in Bargaining power.

    REMEMBER this:

We are contractors..nothing independent about it.
We have no say in negotiations at ALL.
We all signed an agreement to haul SNI freight the way THEY want it.

BUT..when they go outside the contract you HAVE to stand your ground or just do it.

They should go after the idiots who are doing this mess...in essence tell them that if they continue to do this that they'll find their contract no longer valid and out the door or levy some kind of fines on these clowns...not try to go after every IC..they know who these idiots are..

The ones that are doing it are setting themselves up to get burned. Thinking you can book loads way ahead without knowing for sure you'll be there is foolish.

But there will always be those that think they can get ahead by playing games with the load board. All they end up doing is making it harder for everyone else.
