I wouldn't worry about it a whole lot. I called a couple times on loads with two or three borkers having same load posted. TQL was always the cheapest. I never see that many loads anymore that two or three don't have.
And when you do it's some old numbered broker.
Cheapest Brokers?

I like to trash TQL on bad days, but I've gotten good rates from them when the market is right. Same with CHR. Matter of fact, I had a truck in what I thought would be a bad market and my phone was blowing up minutes after posting it up. Two CH brokers were calling me about the same load at once. Too bad though, I'd already covered with someone that called first. -

As far as CHR you just use them to fill in the gap from time to time. Filling in the gap with a solid rate otherwise you will be redflagged in their computers as cheap. You're not going to change how they do things.

They all have good rates and bad rates. TQL and CH are usually low ballers but you just got to be willing to say no or wait them out. Sometimes a few hours makes a big difference in what they will pay. I am on a load today for TQL for $3.87 per mile. Granted its short haul but I spent next to no fuel doing it and when it's all said and done I'll have put more in my pocket than a usual day and I got paperwork caught up and get to play on the internet for a few minutes.
I have had good luck with UTi as well.RedForeman Thanks this. -
There's others cheaper than the ones mentioned.....ICCI comes to mind....No load over $1.25/M that I have seen from them....
Nonetheless....Always know your lanes and don't be afraid to ask for more.....Brokers should not make more than 10% off of a load...... -
Have not heard many people say that about UTI. 3 name changes in the last few years and not many say good things about them. -
You know it would be easier to list the good paying brokers, as follows:

There are no cheap brokers just dumb ##### drivers hauling cheap. As far as Ch Robinson I have hauled at lease one load a week sometimes two and the cheapest I have gotton out of them was $2.23 a mile on long hauls and $3.21 a mile on short. First load I ever did for them went 40 miles and paid $525. And I have hauled a few loads for TQL and always over $2.00 a mile. TQL have called me offering to pay $1.00 a mile for me to deadhead and pick a load on top of the $2+ a mile rate for the load. Some drivers dont have enough professional/common sense to negotiate or turn down loads. I get tired of drivers getting on here talking about cheap brokers all awhile they are running around hauling freight for $1.50 a mile the need to stop calling the brokers cheap and look in the mirror and say dummy
