By "company standards " I am pretty sure all chemicals company will have small print where it says "wear chemical suits, all the time during unload any hazmat load ".
But in real life , I think in 3 years OTR I had 1 place where they told me to unload in a suite.
Everywhere else no one give a crap

You dont have to wear it throughout the entire drop. If I have fresh hoses, I hook everything except the customer tank, suit up, then hook to their tank and get product flowing. Once I've verified everything is flowing ok with no leaks, then I grab my camp chair, take my jacket off or unzip the top of my coveralls(depends on which suit I'm wearing) and go sit in the shade, away from any splash point and watch the hose.

I've never had a customer say otherwise. The only exception was if I had to be near a fitting or hose to monitor something or if the customer was there unloading with me. Oilfield sites are very strict as well, but I had a red suit then, not one of those #### green suits

Don't let the possibility of having to suit up keep you from taking a job. Usually only wore one on corrosives and then only sometimes. Last few years many plants want you to stay either in the truck or their break room. Seems like more and more places don't want the liability of having the driver get hurt.
