I'm torn on this.

I'd prefer minimal foreign owned companies operating here. That said it would be nice to have a vehicle being sold cheap enough that it forces other automakers to drop their pricing to reasonable levels. Vehicle prices have doubled in the last 15 years.

You can buy a brand new BYD in China for about $18,000 usd.My wife's son has bought 2 for his ride share business in China.
It takes less than 5 minutes to charge the batteries on one at a charger location there.
