Human trafficking is a real problem. These poor girls have no idea what’s going to happen to them.

 

Anyone can get Citizenship for $1 mil. What an age we live in. I might marry one of them, for the right price. Be a good side gig.

A friend of mine met a Pinoy girl in Hong Kong. She was working as a housemaid. He fell madly in heat with her and proposed marriage. She jumped at the chance. He gave her airfare to go back to Philippines and prepare for their marriage and eventual move to USA. He went there and rebuilt her grandmothers home with a new roof and concrete floors to cover the dirt floors. Rewired the house.
She came to USA and soon started using his credit cards to buy expensive purses and other womens stuff and shipping it back to PI so her grandmother could sell it.
After she couldn't milk him any more, she said she wanted a divorce so she can move to California. He talked to me about it. What she didn't know is he was obligated, by the K-1 Visa rules, to pay support and healthcare for 10 years.
He got around that by telling her, "OK, I'll give you a divorce and $20K in cash." She jumped at the chance and took the offer, not knowing about the 10 year rule.

 

I read a book about a woman who married a guy she met who was from Iran. After a while he took her there and as soon as they got there she was trapped. Couldn’t leave without her husbands permission. She said there’s a whole group of US woman who married Iranian men. Some want to leave and some are happy to stay. Anyway she finally was able to get away from the guy but it’s no joke once you’re on their turf. No matter how abusive he got she was stuck. Hubby said they were just going for a visit but then she was stuck.
