I am going to be going to SAGE trucking school around the middle of May with my sister (we are planning on driving as a team). I seem to be having a difficult time figuring out which company we should apply to prior to school. We live in southeastern Idaho and many of the companies I've seen recommended on here are only in the East. So far all the companies I've looked at everyone says to stay away from; although I know we are not going to get a good company to start, what is the best company that hire recent graduates that are planning on being a team?

So far I've looked at Werner and Roehl. Also unsure of what a good starting pay for a team is. Thanks for any help!

I graduated from Roadmaster Drivers school last month and got my CDL. I can tell you that I am going with Werner. While there at the school numerous recruiters came by and Werner, to me, put on the best presentation. It all depends upon what you are looking for, I guess. I chose Werner, because of the different options they have available. I live in NM, so I don't have all the choices people back East have either. Werner has OTR, as well as some regional and flatbed options. They even allow you to change from one to the other if you feel the need.

I will be starting off in dry van, but hope to move to flatbed after the first six months or so. Good luck... and keep us up to date on how it goes.

First, let me say I'm a wannabe...but I'm a serious student and information junkie. U.S. Express is apparently all about teams. I've read on the forums that some solo drivers are making a move away from U.S. Express because the company is really focusing on teams. Might check out their web site for further info. They also have video testimonials from current drivers selling the company.

Look into May trucking. They have a terminal in Payette.
