I have been asked to haul a blind load. Yes i know they are not illegal but where is the fine line drawn between unethical and illegal? Anyway the bills say Riverside, Ca to Sulphur Springs, Tx when in actuallity the load is going from Laredo, Tx to Mobile, Al. I am supposed to stop before i get to my delivery and get the real bol faxed to me. I just dropped my load in Laredo that i brought from Cedar City, Ut. So how do you say you were on your way to from Riverside to Sulphur Springs? When thats nowhere close to Laredo.
With the abundance of new DOT Officers out-there who are brand spanking new on the job and have not yet delt with a blind load issue. Whats to keep them from blowing the whole thing out of propoetion?
Clarification Please!!!

I make two bills one from shipper to broker in actual destination town. Other from broker in actual shipper town to customer.
I don't care what the billing addresses are, that's not where I'm going or where I've been. -
Blind loads are fun. I've done many of them. It's pretty easy to do them. First off, stop worrying. It never hurts to buy a pack of blank BOLs.

First, blind loads are nothing to get concerned over.
A number of industries use the method to ship products all over the country.
These loads are known to all parties. Everyone knows that place of origin or delivery point is not what is on the BOL that you may have or get.
Some stuff you get a BOL that only has shipper info and real basic product info, nothing else.
You need to create a BOL for your trip.
Lots of places have a simple blank bill.
Fill in your load location, delivery location
Copy the product info if it’s a few items
Or make a reference to the shipping order/BOL you have, when it complex.
