Do not work for Cobra Inc. or Koror Trucking—they do not follow DOT regulations, including the 11-hour driving rule. Be cautious before considering them. If you go there, insist on signing a paper for your temporary employment.

Once you arrive, don’t expect proper accommodations—they won’t provide a hotel, just a poorly maintained truck. They will push you to run hard, underpay you, and withhold proper load invoices showing actual payments.

These companies will keep your money when you try to leave or ask for home time. They lie to get you in the door, especially if they’re recruiting in Illinois. Personally, they owe me $4,000 in unpaid wages and escrow.

Many others have shared similar experiences—everything people say about them is 100% true. Save yourself the trouble and avoid Cobra Inc. and Koror Trucking at all costs.

Would this, by any stretch of the imagination, be a lease deal, on a 1099?

Sounds familiar, no? I wonder how many of these companies are the same people...you know, same owners, different name duct taped to the door.
The state boys out here nailed a guy this week who was running intra state on numbers he made up in his head. Everything he owned, or owed money on, was in the names of his children. It all used to be in the name of his wife, then his father in law, and now some college and high school kids own it all.
How do they get away with that?

Minimal research would’ve saved you $4K in owed wages and escrow.

Did you run your 11 hrs lawfully? How long did you work for them?

Sounds like they run up under Super Ego. Am I right? Or are they like every other ####cago fly by night company? Let's see:

    • No proper accommodations after arrival but are allowed to sleep in a truck.
    • Truck is a piece of ####.
    • Underpaid and overworked.
    • Withholding rate cons.
    • Keeps your money when you quit or try to go home.
    • Driver left being owed unpaid monies and escrow that the company probably took out of his check as some form of a "bond".
Sounds like ####cago to me. Am I in the ballpark? And no, I'm not judging you. I did make that mistake two years ago when I went with a friend of mine. He's still trying to get me to come back and I'm STILL refusing.

A man started to climb a high, steep mountain when a snake asked the man to carry him along. “But you’re a snake,” the man said. The snake smiled. “Don’t worry. I won’t bite you.” After days of arduous climbing, the man reached the mountain summit, whereupon the poisonous snake bit him. As he lay dying, the man cried out, “You said you wouldn’t bite me!” His reptilian hitchhiker looked at him and said, “Ha! You knew I was a snake when you picked me up.”

Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’ Come back to your senses as you ought and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God — I say this to your shame.”— 1 Corinthians 15:33-34
