IMG_0902.JPG Ran across a photo of my old Astro I had back in the "80's". Any of you folks that wheeled the country in a Cabover know where the term "backslap" came from.
In the pic--- I just hauled a Cat D7 into the ranch (oversize sign) and loaded two of my Ford pickups on to head out to the new outfit we were move'in to. View attachment 515679

@Diesel Dave you’re my hero, driving a cabover for 24 years! I only had to endure them for about 3 years before switching to an R model Mack. Drove a variety of them in those few years, Internationals, Macks, a Peterbilt and even a GMC like @bags had. I was impressed with how quiet that jimmy was…

I kept everything OEM in this truck. Everything worked. For the ride, I added the Air Cabmate, Koni front shocks. It rode great for a COE, then I got old and the ride changed . Not to mentioned I had to upgrade anyways. I kept this truck cleaned and polished, always received compliments on the truck. It’s hard to part with, maybe they’ll bury me in it.
