Well, if they are not carrying insurance, this won't have any effect. Or, they set up their own bogus insurance carrier.

Yeah, the likelihood of a lot of these carriers having legit insurance is slim. I’ve told the story here before about my friend who got sideswiped by one of Chicago’s finest when he was bringing his new KW home. Insurance card was forged and Great West spent a lot of time tracking someone down to get their money. The company only had a couple trucks insured, the rest all had forged cards.

If you’re with Geico you can surely expect a massive increase.

Fortunately I found another carrier for $26k

Side note: Freight Waves had an article about the psychological effects of deporting illegal drivers. Supposedly they are self deporting and it’s been causing a spike in spot van rates.

Was going to start a thread about it but figured it would just get moved to politics section.

I have and been with Northland for quite some time with Hub Intl’ being the broker. At renewal I may finally break with them since they change my agent. She was top notch with the industry. They switched her(promotion) to another division/dept., and I’m not happy with that move, she isn’t either but money talks. So we’ll see who I end up at renewal for an insurance company.

I guess Geico had just jumped into the commercial truck insurance when I signed up with them last year.

I guess they got hammered with claims and now trying to push carriers out. Think they underestimated the sheer amount of idiots driving trucks, hahaha
